General Auditions: Acting Tips With Valerie Mamches #3

This week, expert audition and performance coach Valerie Mamches will be giving us some great tips on how to improve next week’s audition at the Unified General Auditions. – Shane

3.   Find really good audition pieces that suit you and the time slot; show off your abilities, and range; and serve your current audition goals.  Think act-able text, good cuts, not clever intellectual pieces.  And avoid pulling from those freebie monologue down-loads and bad monologue books.  We see those same cuts from other actors and know exactly where they came from.  You don’t have to do something new, but not generic, and well-done and in context.
